Islamabad, December 25
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today survived two successive assassination attempts within seconds of each other when two suicide bombers tried to crash their explosive-laden vehicles into his convoy at Rawalpindi, killing themselves and 12 others.

The Supreme Court has severely criticised the Punjab and Haryana High Court for dismissing an appeal by the Punjab Government against the acquittal of an accused in a drug trafficking case without citing any reason, saying that such a verdict has rendered the order unsustainable.
