Big swoop down on musclemen in Najafgarh

Cracking down on musclemen in Delhi who were offering services to candidates of various political parties, the Delhi Police Crime Branch today claimed to have arrested six alleged gangsters and detained 20 others in the Najafgarh area of South-West Delhi.

More Sikhs are contesting on the Indian National Congress ticket than any other party. The INC has fielded seven Sikh candidates. In comparison, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded one candidate and given four seats to its ally, the Shiromani Akali Dal. The SAD candidates are contesting on the BJP symbol.

HC seeks report on ST certificate scam

Agricultural centre gets nod to purchase mushroom from growers

At last, some relief for the mushroom growers. The Agriculture Research and Development Centre of the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has been authorised to make purchases of mushroom directly from the mushroom growers. The purchase will commence from this year’s production, according to the in-charge of the centre at Murthal, Mr Ajai Kumar Yadav.

Mr Om Parkash (55) was allegedly stabbed to death by his son Manoj (20) in their house at Gian Nagar near Sarang Road here last night. According to a report, the alleged assailant, however, managed to escape immediately after murdering his father.

The Chief Justice of India, Mr V. N. Khare, today launched the website of Delhi District Courts. The website http://www.delhi district courts.nic.in covers the courts of the District Judge, the Additional District and Sessions Judge, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, the Metropolitan Magistrate located in Tis Hazari, Karkardooma and Patiala House District Court complexes.
