Cattle to be removed from villages within MC limits

The municipal corporation today announced a grandiose plan to start removing all cattle from villages falling within the MC limits after 10 days from now. The plan, if implemented in totality, can make city roads safer.

Winged guests flock region

With a sudden fall in the mercury and setting in of winter, the first batch of ‘winter guests’ has descended in this part of the region again. Since the arrival of the ‘guests’ as per the schedule, bird lovers can watch different species of migratory birds in various sanctuaries, parks and wetlands of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh besides various water bodies in parts of the northern region.

Finding no substantial evidence against a Punjab and Haryana High Court former Judge, Justice M.R Agnihotri, and two others, Saroj Rani and K.C Garg, booked in a petrol station allotment case, the CBI today requested the court for the cancellation of the case registered against them.

It was marriage with a difference. Lord Vishnu married “Tulsi” amidst devotional chants. The ceremony was held with full religious fervour at a house in Sector 15. As the devotees stood in rapt attention, Lord Vishnu’s idol was placed in a “palki”. As the “barat” started from Pracheen Shiv Mandir in Sector 24, the reverberating beats of thumping drums filled the air.

The Panchkula District Administration has issued a warning that blasts would be carried out by the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) at its range near Ramgarh till November 7, which may pose a danger to those intruding into its range.
