Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: past 24-hour change: Maximum temperatures changed little.

Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.5°C recorded at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24-hour change: Minimum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departrures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.4°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of 18th October 2003: Weather will be mainly dry over the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 18: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 34°C and 17°C, respectively.
