Two teachers suspended for dereliction of duty
Bhiwani, September 20
The Department of Secondary Education, Haryana, has suspended two government schoolteachers for dereliction of duty during the ongoing Supplementary Board Examinations. The department has also given instructions to the management of two private schools for taking disciplinary action against a principal and a teacher who were found guilty of dereliction of duty.

Factory of fake coins busted
New Delhi, September 20
With the arrest of two persons, the New Delhi district police claims to have busted a .factory, which was churning out counterfeit coins of Rs 5 denomination. The police also claimed to have recovered a hydraulic pressure machine, die, tools, an electronic motor, 975 counterfeit coins of Rs 5 denomination, 27 kg of raw material used to manufacture the coins and one kg of defective and semi-finished coins from the hideout. Over 1,200 telephones go phut

More than 1,200 telephones became dead following a technical fault developed in the RSU telephone exchange at Ganaur town, 16 km from here yesterday. According to a report, the telephonic link between Gandhi Nagar area of Ganaur and several other villages remained cut off from the rest of the country on account of this fault.

The students of JSS Academy of Technical Education in Sector-62 Noida held a demonstration against fee hike and in support of their other demands. Man defrauds housing society; siphons off Rs 55 lakh

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police today arrested Kamal Chandra Das (55) who had allegedly siphoned off Rs 55 lakh of the members of the Welcomgroup Cooperative Housing Society. He belonged to Murshidabad in West Bengal.

elhi-based family physician, Dr Sushma Chawla, who lost her mother to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) five years back, is keen on setting up day care centres in various neighbourhood localities in Delhi. Founder of Hope Ek ASHA (Affectionate Secure Home for Alzheiner’s), a research organisation dedicated to the care of caregivers, Dr Chawla says that the main objective of setting up the care centres is to give respite to caregivers.

Move to issue photo ID cards in Noida
Noida, September 20
The district administration has started the process of photo identity cards for voters all over again. About 35,000 photos have been taken so far and the work on the identity cards will be taken up by the next month, according to Additional District Election Officer Satya Pal Singh Tyagi.
