Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have benn reported at a few places in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Shimla 3 and Kasol 1; Punjab: Halwara 1; east Rajasthan: Bamanwas 1; east Uttar Pradesh: Katerniaghat 6, Etawah 4, Ayodhya, Khadda, Lucknow A.P. and Rae Bareli 3 each and Bhatpurwagha, Balmikinagar, Birdghat, Chhatnag, Fatehgarh, Mirzapur and Paliakalan 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Dabri 1; and Uttaranchal: Hardwar 4 and Haripur 2.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 16: Mainly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers, likely to be heavy in some areas.
