Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Rajasthan, at many places in west Rajasthan, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh — Baijnath 8, Ghamroor 6, Kangra 3, Nadaun and Sujanpurtira 2 each and Barsar, Guler and Nagrotasurian 1 each; East Rajasthan — Kalwara 15, Abhaypura and Jawahar Sagar 8 each, Bundi, Chhoti Sadari and Udaipur City 7 each, Devgarh, Sagwara, Taleda and Verdadam 6 each, Bhansroadgarh, Pratapgarh and Rainbasera 5 each, Begu, Dhambola, Jhalwar and Sabla 4 each, Arnod, Asnawar, Gangrar, Kota AP, Rashmi and Udaipur AP 3 each, Aligarh, Bassi, Chittorgarh, Devli, Kanota, Niwai, Piploo and Sawai Madhopur 2 each and Jaipur AP 1; west Rajasthan — Jalore and Sanchore 6 each, Barmer and Bhinmal 3 each and Jaswantpura 2, East Uttar Pradesh — Chillaghat 2 and Auraiya and Etawah 1 each; west Uttar Pradesh — Kalpi and Mohana 1 each; and Uttaranchal — Dehradun 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 27, 2003: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 27, 2003: Mainly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers in some areas.
