At least two persons were killed and two seriously injured when an old multi-storeyed building collapsed in the congested Turkman Gate area of the Capital today causing panic among the residents in the neighbourhood.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit says the power sector will be made more consumer-friendly and the Inspector Raj abolished so that there is less intervention by the inspectors and the consumers may avail themselves of more facilities.

Three auto drivers held for killing trader
New Delhi, June 28
Three desperadoes armed with knives, who had allegedly stabbed and killed a trader near Rajghat were caught after an hour of the incident. One of the culprits was arrested from Shanti Van while he was fleeing. He was identified as Sonu. His interrogation led to the arrest of Sanju, alias Sudhir, and Mohammad Jameel, police said.

The district police displayed rare ‘benevolence’ when it let a suspect of drug peddling go scot-free. who was to get married a few days later. The police reportedly agreed to the ‘offer’ made by some relatives of the suspect to book one of his brothers in his place so that his wedding could take place smoothly.
