Rainfall: Rain and thundershowers have been reported at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal, Pahalgam, Quazigund and Srinagar 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in west Uttar Padesh, rose appreciably in Punjab, rose in Haryana and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 41.8°C recorded at Kota A.P. (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 28: Rain and thundershowers are likely at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Punjab, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Isolated dust storm or thunderstorm is likely in Haryana and north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 28: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Thundery development is likely in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 40°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 28: Development of thunderclouds is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
