Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, a few places in Uttaranchal and isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Rampur Bushahr 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal and Pahalgam 3 each and Quazigund and Srinagar 2 each and West Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours’ change: Maximum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 41.4° C recorded at Dholpur (Rajasthan) and Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 6: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Uttar Pradesh and isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 6: Partly cloudy sky with a possibility of rain/thundershowers accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 34° C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of April 6: Light rain is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 km ph is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
