Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh, below normal in Punjab and Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.6°C recorded at Chittorgarh (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 7: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
