Petrol to cost less from Dec 1
New Delhi, November 29 
State-run oil companies will pass on the fall in international crude oil prices to domestic consumers with cut in petrol and diesel prices from December 1, the Petroleum Minister, Mr Ram Naik, said today. Though Mr Naik didn’t indicate the quantum of reduction in prices of petrol and diesel likely at the fortnightly review due tomorrow, sources said the price cut might be around 30-40 paise per litre. Kalam’s election
New Delhi, November 29
The Supreme Court today reserved the judgement on a petition challenging the election of Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam as President. The judgement was reserved by a five-judge constitution Bench headed by the Chief Justice, Mr G. B. Pattanaik, on the conclusion of arguments on behalf of the petitioner in person. UNI

The Centre postponed the Cauvery River Authority (CRA) meeting, scheduled for this evening, for lack of quorum following the last-minute cancellation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s New Delhi visit citing ‘health reasons’. UNI

Karachi, November 29
Marine authorities have arrested at least 28 Indian fishermen and impounded five boats after they entered Pakistan’s waters, an official said today. AFP
