Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.4°C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16.4°C recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 21: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 21: Partly cloudy sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32°C and 20°C respectively.
