Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh: Mandi 1 and east Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi 5, Allahabad 4 and Varanasi A.P. 3.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell markedly in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 40.0C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Uttaranchal, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and Rajasthan, below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.0°C recorded at Pathankot (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 20: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 20: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain in some areas. Maximum and Minimum temperatures will be around 32°C and 20°C respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of October 20: Light rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
