Departure: They were markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.0C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan). Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Uttaranchal, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and Rajasthan, below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.0°C recorded at Pathankot (Punjab). Forecast valid until the morning of October 20: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.
