IA plane carries out emergency landing
Patna, April 8 
An Indian Airlines Airbus-320 with 71 passengers on board had to carry out an emergency landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport here following a hydraulic leak. IC 809 with the call sign VT-ESD had to undertake a precautionary landing at the turning point number 5 of the airport near Phulwarisharif. Passengers were off-loaded safely and were taken to the airport terminal in a bus. The plane was on the last leg of its journey. The A-320 had taken off at 7 a.m. from Mumbai and after halts at Delhi and Ranchi landed around 12.55 p.m. at Patna. UNI

Amte's health 
Nagpur, April 8
The health of noted social worker and Magsaysay Award winner Baba Amte has deteriorated due to vomiting, according to his son Dr Prakash Amte. For the past four days Baba Amte had been complaining of nausea and had been vomiting, which has not stopped even after medication, resulting in general weakness, Dr Prakash said today.
