Manipur poll violence
Imphal, February 5
Gunmen attacked the residences of two candidates and that of an election agent here last night, the police said today. Unidentified miscreants targeted the house of former Urban Development Minister I Hemochandra Singh at Chingamakha under Singjamei police station. Mr Hemochandra’s guards repulsed the attack. However, nobody was injured. UNI

IT Dept raids industrial unit
New Delhi, February 5
In a nationwide swoop, the Income Tax Department today carried out searches on a leading industrial unit for allegedly selling stocks out of its account books. Official sources said the searches and survey began this morning at 19 premises of a group of companies in Delhi and its units in Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore for alleged sale of stocks. PTI
