Dalai Lama meets Bush
Washington, May 23
The Dalai Lama today told President George Bush that he was for ‘autonomy’ for Tibet and described the situation in the Himalayan region as “very bad”. The Dalai Lama, who met the President at his residence, later told mediapersons that “he is not for independence but for autonomy for Tibet”. PTI

Kirti Azad arrested
Darbhanga (Bihar), May 23
The BJP Lok Sabha member, Mr Kirti Azad, was arrested here today on charges of leading a mob which locked the Bihar State Electricity Board’s General Manager-cum-Chief Engineer in his office. Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar) Raghunath Prasad said 500 persons demanding regular power supply to the district town locked Mr Arun Kumar Pathak in his office and misbehaved with him.
