Babbars dissolve UK wing Panja Sahib (Pakistan), April 19 This was dissolved by Mr Avtar Singh Sanghera, vice-president, Babbar Khalsa International, while talking to TNS here. He, however, said both the militant outfits had submitted a memorandum to Mr Jack Straw, British Home Secretary, for lifting the ban. He alleged the ban was imposed at the behest of the Indian Government as both the organisations had wings all over the world. Mr Sanghera said the British Government had banned the 21 organisations on the basis of the terrorist act Bill passed last year. The House of Lords had passed the Bill on March 26 this year. Though the various militant organisations had held demonstrations in front of the House of Lord yet the ban had not yet been withdrawn. With the dissolution of the Babbar Khalsa its activists would find it difficult to carry out its activities. The British Government may come up with more stringent measures to curb the militant activities on its soil. |
