Veerappan aide arrested
Coimbatore, February 15
Maran, a close accomplice of forest brigand Veerappan, was arrested by the Special Task Force at Siruvani forest area near here last night. Police sources said Maran, who belonged to the Tamil National Liberation Army (TNLA), an extremist group, had been behind the kidnapping of Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar recently. Maran surrendered to the STF personnel when he was cornered by them.
