Jammu, July 7

Putting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadre in Jammu and Kashmir on poll-mode, party chief and Union Minister JP Nadda has asked the leaders and workers to reach out to “every section of society”.

The remarks were made during the core group meet of the party late on Saturday evening in which senior leaders including two MPs from Jammu region—Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma—were present. National general secretary of the party, Tarun Chugh, UT chief Ravinder Raina among others also attended the meeting.

The core group meeting discussed the areas which need focus and also the communities which can be game-changer in the Assembly poll expected to be held in the coming months. The leaders were asked to talk about the successful government schemes with the locals even in far-off areas of the UT.

“JP Nadda specifically asked the leaders not to leave any segment of society untouched before the election as the support of all people will be required to touch the majority number in the Assembly. He also asked to start meeting people from different segment and not project the party as confined to a community,” sources privy to the development informed.

Sources said that Nadda was hopeful that with the proper strategy and massive outreach, the saffron party can emerge successful in the assembly election.

On Sunday, Nadda also visited the famous Raghunath temple in Jammu where he offered prayers. “Today I feel blessed to have had the privilege of visiting and worshiping at the famous Shri Raghunathji Temple in Jammu. I pray to Lord Shri Raghunathji for the happiness, good fortune and prosperity of all the countrymen,” he said in a statement.
