The five-day long celebration will showcase the distinct tradition of the J&K’s handicrafts and handlooms, which are famous for their intricate designs, marvellous embroidery, magical motifs and subtle shades.

L-G Sinha commended the efforts made by officials of the J&K’s Resident Commission office in New Delhi and all associated departments to highlight the UT’s ageless cultural and artistic heritage. He said, “The exchange of ideas and knowledge will also provide a viable roadmap to address the challenges and explore the emerging opportunities in different sectors.”

“Sambhaav Utsav 2.0 includes ‘Sambhaav Manthan Satra’, which is a series of thematic sessions, especially designed to highlight immense potential of J&K in key areas such as tourism, cultural heritage, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem,” the L-G said. The series of sessions on J&K would also foster a close collaboration between the UT government and industrialists, youth, mediapersons and other key stakeholders, he added.

While reiterating the commitment of the UT Administration to providing opportunity to artisans and entrepreneurs to connect with the global buyers and exporters, the L-G also highlighted J&K’s “transformation and historic growth trajectory”.

“The fast-paced development in the past few years is a testimony to our strong resolve towards the holistic development of the UT,” he said, adding that they were also witnessing the revival of J&K’s cultural identity, artistic traditions and the emergence of J&K as the most preferred destination for tourists, filmmakers and investors across the globe.”

The L-G also invited the commoners, industry leaders and stakeholders to explore the immense possibilities present in the UT.

South Kashmir MP Mian Altaf Ahmad was also present during the event.

The initiative is also providing an integrated platform for artists, authors, craftspeople, women self-help groups and entrepreneurs to present the different facets of the J&K to the larger audience.
