Jai Ram Thakur seeks timely salary to para-workers, outsourced staff
The Leader of Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, today urged the state government to ensure timely payment of salaries to all para-workers and outsourced staff in Himachal Pradesh. Inaugurating an Under-19 sports event at Bagachanogi in his Assembly constituency Seraj in Mandi district, Thakur highlighted the ongoing issues being faced by water guards and other outsourced workers who often face delay in receiving their payments and have to wait for up to six months at times.
The former CM stressed that the delay in getting salaries affected the life of these workers and called for a systemic overhaul to ensure timely payments.
Thakur said the state government lacked communication and engagement with various sections of society. He alleged that development projects were stalled and employment opportunities had gone scarcer.
Thakur also emphasised the importance of sports in developing physical health and leadership skills in youth. Thakur wished the sports meet participants good luck and requested the Chief Minister to lift the ban on Under-12 sports competitions.
