Stress is an integral part of our lives. “It is a natural byproduct of all our activities. Life is a dynamic process and thus forever changing and stressful. Stress is a function of demands placed on us and our ability to meet these. The demands often come from outside sources, such as family or jobs. One gets stressed when one can’t cope with a tough situation. However when one takes part in games, the brain releases endorphins, a chemical that reduces our perception of pain and stress,” said Dr Bahadur.
Regular exercise can help increase your feeling of self-worth, which could be a powerful way to alleviating stress, he said. Chand Singh, an Olympian from the region, gave awards to the winner of the sports event.
