Terror being spread in the name of cow vigilantes: AAP MP
With the Haryana Assembly elections approaching, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday slammed the BJP over the murder of a Class XII student who was suspected to be a cow smuggler by a self-claimed vigilante group in Faridabad.
The incident had sparked outrage, with AAP leaders accusing the BJP of fostering a climate of violence and impunity. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said Aryan Mishra, the victim, was chased for 30 km before being brutally beaten to death.
Singh condemned the incident and said it was a symptom of rising violence in the name of cow protection, emphasising that such acts have become frequent under the BJP rule.
“Terror is being spread in the name of ‘cow vigilantes.’ Who are these people who have become the contractors of cow protection and the Hindu religion? Who has given them this responsibility?” Singh questioned.
He further accused the Haryana government of being complicit in these crimes, alleging, “The BJP government of Haryana itself is sponsoring such murders and giving them protection. Aryan’s father said the Modi government was promoting and protecting such murders.”
