A cycling marathon was organised by the Faridkot police today under Mission Nischai. People of all age-groups from nearby villages, towns and cities participated in the marathon. The participants were joined by local leaders, police officers and representatives of several social organisations.

The event aimed at educating the public about the ill-effects of drugs and promoting activities like cycling for physical fitness, said Faridkot SSP Pragya Jain.

All the participants were awarded certificates. Such initiatives motivate the youth to stay away from drugs and engage in sports and physical activities. This event was an important step to make public participation prominent in the war against drugs, she said.
