Any doctor caught taking commission from diagnostic centres will be on the radar of the Punjab Medical Council (PMC).
The PMC is keeping an eagle’s eye on city doctors. Recently, notices were issued to 20 doctors, who were found taking cuts from the diagnostic centres.
Woman ends life

A 22-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence on Barewal Road this morning. The deceased, identified as Anjali, hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
Health Dept to set up kiosks

The Health Department will set up seven kiosks in slum areas of the city.
These will be set up near Sunet, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Moti Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Colony, Metro Road and Sector 32. The railway station at Khanna will also have a kiosk.

World First-Aid Day
Students of Ryan International School, Dugri, celebrated World First-Aid Day on the school premises. A workshop was conducted for Montessori students by medical teacher Neeta James. Students of senior class made first-aid box in the class and teachers apprised them about the usage of the first-aid kit. The headmistress of the school, Ritu Syal, said most of the people die due to lack of first-aid. Meanwhile, students of Classes III to V visited a factory at Auto Pin Industry in Dhandari Kalan. They witnessed manufacturing of spare parts of bikes and bicycles, on the occasion.
Printers oppose ban on imports

Principal Dr Balwant Singh was the chief guest on the occasion and vice-principal Manpreet Kaur was the guest of honour. Father gave poison to mother, alleges son
A man allegedly made his wife consume poison due to a family dispute at Dugri area on Saturday morning. The victim is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.
Her condition is stated to be out of danger. The victim’s son, Ashutosh, alleged that when he went to the washroom at his house, his father along with his two friends ‘forcefully gave poison’ to his mother.
28 cases settled in Lok Adalat
