Hindi Diwas celebrated

Child beating: DEO marks inquiry

Acting swift on the alleged beating of a five-year-old student, Ananya, by her teacher at Government School (No. 5), College Road, on Saturday, DEO (primary), Gurjot Singh, today held a meeting with teachers. Singh has marked an inquiry into the incident. He said the teacher accused of beating the student was also present on the occasion.

CBDT issues fresh instructions

Road to disappointment, disgust

Resentment prevails among residents of Barewal Road, Fatehpur Awana, over the apathetic attitude of the civic authorities.
They said the area was in a state of neglect, adding that their pleas had fallen on deaf ears.
“Most of the roads in the area need repairs. Every day, accidents take place on the potholed roads. Commuters dread taking the stretches,” said the residents.
