34 acquitted in Sarabha Nagar shootout case

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Sukhdev Singh today acquitted 34 persons who were facing accusations in the Sarabha Nagar firing case.
The prime prosecution witnesses reportedly turned hostile following a compromise between the parties paving the way for the acquittal of all the accused.
Man consumes poison near office of Deputy Commissioner; dies

Woman commits suicide, in-laws booked
Ludhiana, May 12
The Jodhewal Basti police have booked seven persons, including the in-laws, in an abetment to suicide case after a 38-year-old woman killed herself allegedly by consuming poison at New Subash Nagar.
Man dies of burns, sister retracts statement
Ludhiana, May 12
A 38-year-old man, who was allegedly set on fire under mysterious circumstances yesterday, succumbed to burns at the Civil Hospital here today.
In a U-turn, the victim's sister, who had accused her sister-in-law of setting Rakesh Kumar (38) on fire, backtracked and told the police that Rakesh became the victim of an accidental fire.
Fire breaks out in school kitchen

Dy Commissioner inspects counting centres

Two drug peddlers nabbed

The city police nabbed two drug peddlers and seized four quintals of poppy husk from their possession last night.
The accused have been identified as Alla Ditta, alias Abdul, and Shafik Khan, alias
Fikka, residents of Chamba in Himachal Pradesh and Malerkotla in Sangrur respectively.

centre.
