Confirms mosque demolition was pre-planned
Chandigarh, April 5
The BJP’s attempts to demolish brick by brick the reported sting operation report on the Babri Masjid, by describing it as a pre-poll stunt, may fall flat.
Justice Manmohan Singh Liberahan, who probed the 1992 demolition of the Babri mosque at Ayodhya, has asserted that the operation was indeed meticulously planned and executed.

Amit ShahThe Congress today moved the Election Commission seeking arrest of BJP leader Amit Shah for a hate speech he made in Muzaffarnagar on April 3 urging voters to "avenge dishonour" meted out to them in the recent communal riots involving the community and Muslims. Taking exception to remarks by Shah, an aide of BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi, the Congress demanded registration of an FIR, arrest of Shah and electioneering ban on him.

A Chinese patrol ship hunting for a missing Malaysia Airlines aircraft detected a pulse signal in the south Indian Ocean on Saturday, state news agency Xinhua reported, in a possible indicator of the underwater beacon from a plane's "black box".

Criminal case against Ropar activist dropped
Ropar, April 5
Finding no evidence, the district police have dropped a criminal case of attempt to murder registered against RTI activist Dinesh Chadha here today. Chadha, a local advocate who had been vocal against illegal mining and ‘gunda’ tax, was booked by the police on a complaint by an employee of a mining contractor on March 21 under Sections 323, 307, 506, 148, 149 and 120B.

The sword inscribed with "Akal Sahai Ranjit Singh Lahore" on the blade in Gurmukhi, was originally put up for auction last month by Mullock's auctioneers in the UK, but withdrawn at the last minute after it generated huge interest.
