Poll staff allege harassment: Hundreds of schoolteachers and other employees who reported for election training in the sub-division are facing “harassment” as they have been issued notices for not attending the training session which they claimed they had attended. They claimed they were being forced to work on weekends, but despite that they were marked absent.

Lawyers to continue stir: Lawyers at Ropar and Anandpur Sahib have decided to continue their strike till Friday as the police failed to withdraw a criminal case against RTI activist Dinesh Chadha. The lawyers have been striking work since Tuesday, alleging that Chadha was framed in a false case as he had been raising voice against the sand mafia.
