Dismissed cop arrested with pistol:
A dismissed head constable’s bid to pose as a police inspector to seek relaxation from tax at toll collection points landed him in the soup on Wednesday when the Mahilpur police arrested him with a fake ID card. appointed PIMS CEO: The Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has appointed Manpreet Sohal Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the institute. The Board of Governors of the PIMS Medical and Education Charitable Society approved his appointment. A law graduate from PU, Chandigarh, Sohal has completed a hospital management course from Singapore Management University.

Milkman robbed of Rs
2.2 lakh at petrol pump: A milkman was robbed of Rs 2.2 lakh at a petrol pump here on Wednesday. The police said Pritpal Singh of Nangal Abiana village had withdrawn ~2.2 lakh from a bank around 2 pm and tied the bag containing money with his motorcycle. On his way back home, he stopped at a petrol pump for a fuel refill. In the meantime, two youths on a motorcycle snatched the bag and fled, the police said.
