PSPCL seeks 13 per cent hike in power tariff
Ludhiana, December 30
Going by the plea made in the annual revenue requirement (ARR) for the year 2014-15 by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC), a tentative hike of 13 per cent (64 to 70 paise for different categories of consumers) is on the cards.

Government fails to get any cluster approved

The Punjab Government once again failed to apply any cluster in the MSE-CDP scheme of the Ministry of MSME during the 34th Steering Committee meeting held recently to approve the clusters. The meeting was held after five months and surprisingly, Punjab didn't apply for any grant for industry.

Students of Classes IX and XI of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are all prepared to appear for the Open Text Book Assessment (OTBA). In order to familiarise the schools with this system, the board has provided them a key to crack the OTBA. Each subject will have 10 marks allotted for the OTBA.

A 22-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Mukand Singh Nagar near Focal Point here today. The victim has been identified as Keshav, a migrant from Uttar Predesh.

The two-day DD Khosla Memorial Ludhiana District Chess Championship concluded at BCM Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, here, today.
