Minor held for rape
Chandigarh, December 26 The other accused who helped the boy was also arrested. The two work in a factory at Industrial Area. They are the victim's neighbours. The complainant said the 17-year-old and Dina Nath Yadav (26) entered her house. Dina Nath Yadav locked the door while the minor boy raped her. The medical examination of the victim was conducted and the police was told that the medical report had confirmed rape. The police presented the accused in a local court, which sent one accused to judicial custody and the other to Juvenile Home in Sector 25. A case of wrongful confinement (342), rape (376), criminal intimidation (506), criminal conspiracy (120-B) IPC has been registered against the accused at the Industrial Area police station. The ultrasound scanning of the 16-year-old rape victim was conducted at the GMSH-16 today. SIT officials were also present at the time of the examination. Five policemen, who had allegedly raped and molested the victim, are in judicial custody. They will now be presented in a local court on January 6. The police have already written to the court to fast track the case. |

Prabhjeet leads team to victory
Chandigarh, December 26 Batting first, KK Cricket Academy posted a healthy total of 217 runs in 30 overs. Giving an all-round performance, Prabhjeet Singh scored 71 of 80 balls and took 2 wickets to help the team in its victory by 76 runs. Equal support was given by Ayush, who contributed 44 runs. Cricket trials on Dec 29
Chandigarh, December 26 Earlier, the trials were postponed due to rains on last Sunday. Students from any school, residing in Chandigarh and under the age group of 12 to 14 years as on January 2014, are eligible to take part in the trials.
