Chandigarh, November 12
With a motive to make the conception of sports clearer among children, former Haryana Sports Director (2008-12) OP Singh is all set to launch a book titled, ‘Say Yes to Sports’ on Wednesday in New Delhi.

The book, on the revolution in school sports across the country, is scheduled to be launched by Dr Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for Human Resource Development.

“Say Yes to Sports is about children and transformation. So I decided to release this book on the eve of National Children Day. The book imbibes details as to how sports help children in their growing years and sharpen their learning abilities. I hope it sparks revolution in school sports across the country,” said OP Singh, also an IPS officer.

“Interestingly, it is not as much about lack of opportunity or facility as it is usually believed. It is more about lack of awareness,” said Singh.

“The basic idea is to make people understand that it is possible to build a popular sports culture by highlighting sporting successes inspirational, substantive and realistically achievable. I hope the effort will help children and make teachers motivate students to indulge themselves in sports,” said the former Haryana Sports Director.
