Medical camp organised:
More than 350 patients were examined and treated during a medical check-up camp organised in the nearby Darvesh village yesterday. Congress leader Daljit Raju inaugurated the camp in which a team of Doctors belonging to the City Hospital examined the patients. Scores of residents from adjoining villages participated in the camp.

Roadways staff on 3-day strike:
The contractual staff of Punjab Roadways went on a three-day strike alleging exploitation at the hands of contractors. More than half of the 89 buses did not ply, said Pawan Kumar Singla, General Manager, Ropar depot. Workers union president Jagtar Singh said they were underpaid.

Rewari
Two commit suicide
: Maninder (23), who was employed as driver in a private company, committed suicide by hanging himself at Chowki No. 2 village, about 15 km from Rewari, last night. In another case, Ajit Singh (39), a resident of Ward 8 of Bawal town, about 15 km from Rewari, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house last night.

Man held for acid attack
: The police arrested Ashok of Badwasni village on the charge of throwing acid on another youth, Satish of the same village, last evening. He was today produced in court, which remanded him in judicial custody. Ashok was easing himself in front of the victim’s house and this led to an altercation. Ashok entered Satish’s house and allegedly threw acid on him.
