Abohar
Man, daughter killed in road mishap:
A resident of Kerakhera village, Subhash Chander, and his four-year-old daughter Guddu were killed while his wife Suman and son Manoj were injured after their motorcycle was reportedly hit by a car on Wednesday. The victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital by some farmers of Tarmala village. A case has been registered.

Youth's body found from canal: An unidentified body of a youth was found on Wednesday from a sub-canal near Gumjal village on the Abohar-Sriganganagar road. Villagers who spotted the body trapped in an outlet informed the police. The body has been shifted to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Officers get second DA instalment:
All IAS, IPS and IFS officers in Punjab have got their second instalment of dearness allowance (DA) of 10 per cent. The state government has decided to give them the DA from July 1. Sources said since the second DA hike for 2013 for all Central government employees was announced in September, the state government was liable to pay them arrears and enhanced DA at the earliest. The move has caused heartburn among state government employees, who have not even been given the full DA of 8 per cent announced in January.

2 IPS officers shifted:
The state government has issued the transfer and posting orders of two IPS and one HPS officers. Dr BK Sinha, Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP), Home Guards, has been posted as ADGP, RTC, Bhondsi. Rajinder Singh, 5th Bn. HAP, Madhuban, has been shifted as SP, Police Headquarters,Panchkula. Omvir Singh of 1st Bn, HAP, Ambala City, has been shifted to 5th Bn, HAP, Madhuban.

Kurukshetra
2 killed in mishap:
Two brothers, Deepak Prasar and Pushpinder Kumar, residents of Khanna in Punjab, were killed on the spot when a truck hit their car near Jorasi Khurad village under Pehowa police station last evening.
