JE suspended  for negligence:
Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi on Tuesday suspended a Junior Engineer in the Abohar municipal council, Kulwant Singh, for negligence of duty. He has been charged for registering work without a spot visit. The Minister has also ordered a chargesheet against Banke Bihari, Ramesh Chabra and Suresh Raj, posted as Assistant Town Planners at Amritsar, for not taking action against illegal construction of hotels.

5 villages included in Moga corporation: Five villages, including Dunoke, Sant Nagar, Landeke, Mahila Singh Wala and Mahima Singh Wala, have been included in the Moga Municipal Corporation. A government spokesman said the aim was to extend facilities of potable water, sewerage and streetlights, besides others, to these villages adjoining Moga.

Man, son killed in road mishap:
Sukhdev Singh (55) and his son Kuldeep Singh (22) were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a truck on the Moga-Ferozepur road here on Tuesday. The deceased were residents of Godhewala village on the outskirts of the city. A case of rash driving has been registered against the truck driver who has absconded.

Jain’s colony case adjourned to Nov 7: Hearing in the case of raising an illegal colony against Moga MLA Joginder Pal Jain and his family members was adjourned to November 7 as the judicial magistrate took a day’s leave on Tuesday. The court was to decide on declaring the MLA’s elder son, Puneet Jain, a proclaimed offender. The police has already initiated proceedings against him. In February, the court had granted Puneet six months to go to Canada where he had settled post-marriage. He, however, failed to return.

Cop hurt in blast dies:
Head Constable Bhuma Singh, who was injured in a blast at the Sadar police station in Nabha, succumbed to his injuries here on Tuesday. The body was handed over to his family after the postmortem examination. The other injured policemen are out of danger. The explosion occurred at the police station malkhana on Monday.

Man held with 500 gm of heroin: An Amritsar resident Talwinderjit Singh was held with 500 gm of heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore in Rajpura on Tuesday. Rajpura Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhupinder Khatra said the accused tried to flee when he was signalled to stop his vehicle. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered.

Rewari
Farmer dead
: Navin Kumar(25),a young farmer of Dakhora village, about 45 km from Rewari, was killed after he got entangled in a reaping machine while harvesting guar crop at their farmhouse in adjoining Nangal Kheri village last evening. The Kosli police has termed it as a case of accidental death.
