Freedom has not ended their struggle

Eighty-year-old Lakshmi's husband Gauri Shankar Chibba died fighting for freedom. Every year, she comes to the venue for the Independence Day function, meets politicians, airs her problems and returns disappointed.

With the launch, Ludhiana has become the fifth city in the country after four metros, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, to have its own FM Gold Radio. The current range of 20-km radius of the channel will be enhanced in coming months and studio-based programmes will be produced and broadcast from here.

6 diarrhoea cases reported in city
Ludhiana, August 16
After Sherpur Kalan, Dhandari, Muslim Colony and Jawahar Nagar, six diarrhoea cases have been reported from different localities on the Pakhowal Road. The areas are Kanchan Colony, Govind Nagar and Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar area.

22 samples of eatables fail purity test

As many as 22 samples of different eatables failed purity test which were collected in the last seven months on the instructions of Dr Subhash Batta, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana.

Three die in roof collapse
Ludhiana, August 16
Three persons, including two children and a woman, died after a roof of a dilapidated house located in Baazigar Colony, Salem Tabri, collapsed on the intervening night of August 14 and 15.
