Puducherry to get its first gurdwara: Puducherry will soon get its first gurdwara. Land for the same will be allocated and authorities have planned to make it functional by January next year so they can celebrate Guru Gobind Singh's birthday. Virendra Kataria, the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, said he had in principle accepted to allot land for setting up the gurdwara in the former French colony. The place has no gurdwara as of now. The prayer hall will be ready once the allotment is done. The Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib will be installed thereafter.
