Minor gang-raped; police apathy alleged

In an alleged case of police apathy, a 13-year-old Dalit girl of Heeran village near Chandigarh Road, who was allegedly gang-raped by four youths, was made to do the rounds of a police station along with her mother, a widow. Despite this, the police did not register a case. The victim today visited the house of BJP leader and former Health Minister Satpal Gosain and sought his help.

Bus operators yet to get payments for poll duty

Bus operators here continue to be a harassed lot as they have been doing rounds of different offices to get their payments for Zila Parisahd election duty. Woman: Killed mother-in-law in a fit of rage

A woman, who was arrested on a charge of killing her 50-year-old mother-in-law at Bazigar Basti in the Salem Tabri area on May 4, expressed no remorse for the murder. In the police custody, Amarjit Kaur said that vicim Mahinder Kaur had thrashed her nine-month-old son. In a fit of rage she killed her.
