Fazilka
Minor raped by cousin in Fazilka: A minor girl was allegedly raped by her cousin brother and his friend in Beganwali village, 10 km from here. A case has been registered by the Sadar police, Fazilka. The victim, a student of class XI, alleged the accused, Surinder Singh and his companion took her to sugarcane fields and raped her. On the basis of a medical examination of the girl at the local Civil Hospital, the police has booked both the accused.

Six of family killed in mishap: Six people were killed, when the speeding Alto car they were travelling in hit a tree on Samana-Ramnagar road, late Wednesday night. The driver swerved the car to avoid hitting a scooter and lost control of the vehicle. The police said the victims had been identified as car driver Bhagwan Singh, his son Bikram Singh, Harman Singh, Angrej Kaur, Satya devi and Baljinder Kaur. All the victims were related to Bhagwan Singh and hailed from Gopur village in Kaithal district in Haryana.

Harassed by in-laws, woman ends life: Seema Rani (21) ended her life after consuming a poisonous substance here on Thursday. Rani's father, Joginder Pal alleged Seema's in-laws had been harassing her ever since she had got married to Surinder Kumar eight months ago. A case has been registered against the accused.

Woman dies as tree falls on her: Parkash Kaur was killed and Ranjit Kaur seriously injured when a tree fell on them at the local railway station on a windy Thursday evening. Both were residents of Bassi Pathana. Ranjit was rushed to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital where her condition is said to be serious.
