Pak repatriates Haryana resident: Pakistan on Friday repatriated Kuldeep Singh alias Deepu, a resident of Karnal in Haryana, who had inadvertently crossed over to the neighbouring nation a fortnight ago. The BSF authorities handed him over to Kahan Garh police post in Attari. Sources said Kuldeep had been working as a daily wager. His brother, who came to receive him, said he had been missing for the last over a month. Sources said he appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants when he crossed the border.
Fake arms licence case: On complaint of ADGP
(Intelligence),Amritsar police has registered a case against Ajay Partap Singh of Kherabad for allegedly getting a fake arms
licence.

500 cases of liquor seized: On a tip-off, the CIA staff of the Barnala district seized 500 cases of the Punjab-made liquor (PML) from former liquor contractor Sati Kumar's house. When contacted, Superintendent of Police (detective) Balraj Singh Sidhu said the 500 cases of the PML had been taken in custody by the police from the former liquor contractor's house at Handhiaya.
The SP (D) said the police had got the information that Sati Kumar, who was a liquor contractor last year, had liquor stock of that time in his possession. He was selling the liquor at his house. A case had been registered against Sati Kumar under Section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act. Sati Kumar has been arrested in this regard.

Muktsar gets new Civil Surgeon: Dr Rakesh Arora on Friday took over the charge of the new Civil Surgeon in Muktsar. He hails from Abohar and has been transferred from Chandigarh. Earlier, he had served at the Civil Hospitals in nearby towns. Meanwhile, the district health authorities observed the World No Tobacco Day on Friday. At least 1,100 students of various government schools took the oath of not using tobacco in their lives.
Two booked for murder: Two youngsters allegedly killed their friend while enjoying drinks at Malout on Friday. Sources said Amarjeet, Krishan Kumar and Sanjeev (25) had some dispute over an issue. Amarjeet and Krishan banged Sanjeev's head into a wall and he died on the spot, the sources said. He was a resident of Dashmesh Nagar. A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered.

Police arrests
4 for murder: The police has arrested Kamaljit Kaur, her mother Avinash Kaur, father Davinder Dass, residents of Barapind near Goraya, and their domestic help Ramu for murdering Kamajit’s betrothed Sukhwinder, a resident of Pandher village in Shahkot. Police sources said Kamaljit called Sukhwinder to her village on March 13 where she along with the other accused hit him with an iron rod, put him in a bed box and set the bed on fire. Later, the bed was thrown into a canal.
