Parshuram Jayanti celebrated: To mark Parshuram Jayanti, the local Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha organised a shobha yatra in the town this morning. People of the town participated in it. Vinay Sharma, president of the sabha, said the celebration commenced with the Ramayana path and recitation of bhajans.

HAMIRPUR
Twenty medical stores raided: Officials of the Drugs Department conducted a raid on 20 medical stores in the district on Thursday and seized medicines that were without proper documents. The raids were conducted at Hamirpur, Nadaun and Dhaneta by the drug inspector. The department has issued a warning to the medicine stores for keeping medicines without proper documents and confiscated such medicines. 

Mandi
62 students donate blood: As many as 62 IIT students donated blood at a camp organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) in association with the Rotract Club and the Red Cross Society. Prof Timothy A Gonsalves, Director, IIT, Mandi, inaugurated the camp. The team of doctors from the Mandi Zonal Hospital was led by Dr Arindam Roy and Dr Lata Chandel.

District heads of BJP ST cell appointed: Jia Lal, state president, BJP Scheduled Tribe (ST) cell, announced the names of districts chiefs of the cell on Saturday. Those appointed district presidents of the cell include Puran Chand Sharma (Chamba), Surinder Kumar (Kinnaur), Capt Ganga Ram (Bilaspur), Onkar Nehria (Kangra), Sandeep Chaudhary (Solan), Gurmukh Pal (Palampur), Munish Baudh (Kullu), Mahender Singh Chauhan (Dehra), Onkar Nath (Una), Sanjeev Saunda (Lahaul), Ganga Ram (Nurpur) and Mansa Ram (Nurpur). He said the presidents of the remaining districts would be announced shortly.
