Found drunk again, teacher suspended:
Samsher Singh, English language teacher at Government High School, Joanewal, Ludhiana district, has been suspended after he was allegedly found drunk on duty. He had also been found in an inebriated condition during school hours in December 2012. Following his denial, he was medically examined at the Civil Hospital, Ludhiana.

Hoshiarpur
25-year-old man found dead:
The body of a 25-year-old man was found from a gunny bag kept in the bushes near the Hoshiarpur-Himachal Pradesh barrier near Mangowal, about 18 km from here, on Sunday evening. According to the police, the body seemed to be of a migrant labourer. After registering a case under Sections 302, 201 of IPC, the Sadar police, Hoshiarpur, has sent the body to the civil hospital for postmortem examination and identification.

Mishap victim succumbs to injuries: Hoshiarpur: Sukhwinder Singh of ward number 8, Dasuya, succumbed to his injuries at the civil hospital in Mukerian on Sunday evening. According to police sources, Sukhwinder, along with Ranbir Singh, was going on scooter when it was hit by a motorcycle (PB 07 AG 4494) at the Kala Manj U-turn. The Mukerian police has registered a case under Section 279, 307, 337 of the IPC.

Girl abducted:
Ajay Kumar of Panwad village allegedly lured away a 17-year-old student of BA (Part I) from nearby Teekla village on February 23. When the parents failed to trace the girl, her father filed a complaint last evening following which a case of abduction was registered against Ajay.
