Panchkula, December 29
While the newly elected Doon MLA, in his bail plea, filed in the lower court had mentioned that his friend, Rajinder, knew Jyoti, he now, in the bail plea filed in the Punjab and Haryana High court, claims that his Personal Security Officer (PSO), Satpal, had relations with her. The new claims have cropped up only after the Panchkula police pointed out the tower locations of the MLA’s personal cell phone.

No mention about Satpal was made in the plea filed in the Panchkula court of Additional District Session’s judge, Sanjay Sandhir, instead it was stated that his friend Rajinder Singh knew Jyoti and not Chaudhary.

It was mentioned, “The applicant happened to be present on the wedding ceremony of sister of deceased Jyoti because he had given lift to his friend Rajinder Singh for going to the said place and Rajinder Singh thereafter accompanied the applicant to Mukarian and came back to Baddi,” said the plea. It was stated that Rajinder Singh did not know Chaudhary but Jyoti.

While in the bail plea filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, it is stated, “The petitioner confronted Satpal, who admitted having relations with the deceased. Satpal is unmarried and hails from Punjab belongs to the same community, as was the deceased. He admits having relations with the deceased and used to call from the cell phone of the petitioner, which often used to be in his custody,” stated the petition. No mention about Rajinder has been made.

Regarding the mobile phone locations, it is stated, “Satpal, who had the custody of the cell phone of the petitioner and the car of the petitioner probably drove to Chandigarh.”

In the plea filed in the High Court, Chaudhary has mentioned that he, in no case knew Jyoti, personally. It was also stated that Satpal does not have any other cell phone of his own and accompanies the petitioner all the time, when out of home.

While the police of Haryana and that of the Himachal Pradesh claim that Chaudhary and his accomplices are absconding, Chaudhary in his petition said that he is and elected representative and would be the last person to run from the law and in no manner whatsoever can it be presumed that he would evade the course of justice.

It was on December 21 when the Panchkula police had reached the residence of Chaudhary at Sandholi, Baddi with arrest warrants of Chaudhary and his three accomplices, Gurmeet, Dharampal and Paramjeet after their nomination in section 302(murder) of a 24 year old girl Jyoti.
