Health check-up camp organised: The Dost Welfare Society organised a free primary health check-up camp at the newly-built Geeta Bhavan in Sarabha Nagar today. Patients were given medicines free of cost. One booked for firing in air at marriage palace:
The police has registered a case against an unidentified person for firing in the air at a marriage palace near Bhokra village. In a complaint to the police, Sudesh Kumar said some unidentified person fired the gun shots with his licensed weapon. A case under Sections 336 of the IPC and 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused.

Two undertrails escape from court: Two undertrails allegedly escaped from the police custody from the court complex here on Monday. Source said 43 undertrials from the Central Jail,
Ferozepur, were escorted in police bus along with 26 security guards led by Assistant Sub-Inspector
(ASI) Darshan Singh to be produced before Additional District and Session Judges JPS Khurmi and Sumit
Malhotra. On counting after being produced in the court, the police team found that Sanjay
Jat, a resident of Pushkar in Rajasthan, and Sonu alias Lakha of Abohar were missing.

3 of family killed in accident: Three persons were killed when the motorcycle they were travelling on met with an accident near Malsian on the Talwandi-Madho-Kala Sangha road on Sunday. Victims Brij Mohan (43), his wife Seema (41) and teenaged son Sunil (12) were killed on the spot when their motorcycle was reportedly hit by a speeding car from the rear. The car driver, however, managed to escape after the accident. The police has registered a case and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination.Nawanshahr
Man falls from tractor, dies: One person was killed while four others received injuries after falling from tractor-trailer near Sikh National College in Banga on the Jalandhar-Nawanshahr-Chandigarh highway on Monday. The victim has been identified as Dilraj Singh of Mazari village. 2.8 kg of opium seized: The district police has seized 2.8 kg of opium from two persons in as many days. The police said 1 kg of opium was seized from Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Bhamabadi village, on Sunday. He was arrested near Badrukhan village. The police arrested one more person, Satgur Singh of Chathe Sekhwan, after recovering 1.8 kg of opium from his possession near Duggan village on Monday.
