Chargesheet filed against Kanda in Geetika case
New Delhi, October 6
Almost two months after Geetika Sharma, former employee of MDLR Airlines, committed suicide at her Delhi’s Ashok Vihar residence, the police today filed a chargesheet in the case accusing former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda and his employee Aruna Chaddha of conspiring to intimidate the victim to take the extreme step.

LPG cylinder to cost more; diesel, petrol may follow
New Delhi, October 6
The price of cooking gas (LPG) was increased by Rs 11.42 per cylinder today following a government move to raise commission to dealers. Petrol and diesel prices too may go up marginally as the Petroleum Ministry is considering raising dealer commission by at least 23 paisa and 10 paisa a litre, respectively.

Buffeted by national outrage over a series of gang rapes, Haryana on Saturday found its shame unmitigated when a teenage Dalit victim committed suicide in Jind, and a Hisar woman complained she was abducted and repeatedly raped over the past one month.

Abetment to suicide: SC marks contours for office situations
New Delhi, October 6
Any boss who persistently harasses an employee and insults him by saying that anyone else in his place would have committed suicide will attract the charge of abetment to suicide, the Supreme Court has ruled.
