Teenage girl ends life: An 18-year-old girl, identified as Mamta, a resident of the GMS road, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence on Monday. She was a student of class XII and was staying at her uncle’s place. Her parents lived in Haldwani. She took the extreme step after her uncle reportedly scolded her for spending maximum time talking to friends over the phone. However, when in the afternoon, her uncle, Seemanth, came back from office for lunch, he saw her hanging in her room.
Broker accused of cheating: Rakesh Kumar Kaushik of Dalanwala has lodged an FIR against Sukesh Jain, a broker, for allegedly misleading him in share trading and causing a loss of Rs 37 lakh to him. He said the broker made him invest Rs 37 lakh two years ago assuring him return of Rs 2 crore. However, a few days ago, the broker told him that he had lost the money due to slump in the market.
Missing girls traced to Delhi: Two girls, Swati of Dalanwala and Nirmala of Raipur, who had been missing from their homes, were traced to Delhi on Monday. Both friends have been sent to Nari Niketan. According to information, Swati reportedly had a fight with her brother after which she left her home along with one of her friends
