Irrigation scheme inaugurated: Total 1,038 hectares of land have been brought under irrigation in the Jhandutta constituency. This was stated by HP Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Rikhi Ram Kaundal while inaugurating Rs 19.60 lakh Teehari irrigation scheme at Teehari village near Barthin, 45 km from here, on Monday. Kaundal said this scheme would irrigate 12.50 hectares of land where farmers could grow off-season costly vegetables and sophisticated flowers and set up poly houses with 80 to 90 per cent financial subsidy under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kisan Bagwaan Smridhi

National meeting of RSS begins: The national meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), in which top leadership of the organisation is scheduled to participate, began its session at the MIT College of Engineering, Bani, in the Badsar sub-division of Hamirpur district on Monday. Though no official information has come from the media department of the RSS, according to information the session of national RSS leaders had begun on July 2 and is likely to continue till July 11. Job fairs at Una, Hamirpur: Anurag Thakur, MP, Hamirpur, has said job fairs will be organised across the state through which various companies will recruit about 600 youth for various jobs. The MP said in the first phase, one such fair would be held at ITI, Una, on July 5 and another at ITI, Hamirpur, on July 6 and 7. He said these fairs were being organised under the aegis of the All-India Technical and Management Association. Companies like Ranbaxy, Godrej, Philips, SFN, Tata, and Mahindra would be participating in these fairs. KANGRA
Man killed in
road accident: A man was killed on the spot when his car dashed against a bus coming from the opposite direction at Bangwar on the Matour- Shimla national highway falling under Ranital police post on Wednesday. The police said a Martuai WagonR car (PB 10 BM 8714) and a private bus (HP 68 7272), which was on way towards Kangra, collided at Bangwar leaving the driver of the car dead on the spot. Eight booked in rioting case: Following a complaint of Rajiv Kumar of Dhasolli under Rehan police station, the local police registered a rioting and thrashing case against eight youths of the same village on Tuesday. Two vehicles, Innova and Indigo car, stopped at the gate of the complainant’s house on Monday night. Prince Sharma, one of the occupants of the vehicles, assaulted him with an empty bottle and the other seven occupants thrashed him severely leavibg him with injuries. BJYM to hold sammelans: The Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will be holding youth seminars in five districts of the state during July. Stating this here on Tuesday, state president, BJYM, Narender Attri said a beginning in this direction would be made by holding a sammelan in Kangra on July 8. “Besides party chief Nitin Gadkari, all senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister PK Dhumal, Shanta Kumar, Satpal Satti, Kalraj Mishra and JP Nadda, will be present during the sammelan,” he informed. He said the next sammelan would be held in Sirmour district on July 12, Una on July 18, Hamirpur on July 19 and Bilaspur on July 20.
