Lalru police cracks murder case, arrests six
Our Correspondent

Dera Bassi, June 27
The Lalru police has cracked the murder case of Hardip Singh, who was found murdered under mysterious circumstances on June 25 near Lalru here. All the six accused were arrested by the police with sharp edge weapons used in the murder.

The police said that enmity between main accused and the victim was the reason for murder. Informing about the case, the SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the main accused, Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Amarpuri Colony, Lalru, had planned to eliminate Hardip Singh, a resident of same colony, some days ago. He took help of his brother and his four other friends. The other arrested accused were identified as Rajinder Kumar resident of Amarpuri Colony, Lalru, brother of main accused Ramesh Kumar, Rubal, Tarsem resident of Lohsimbli, Vikas and Gulshan, both residents of Lalru.

The case was resolved by the police team led by the SHO Lalru Gurwant Singh. The police worked on different theories. The main reason which came in the limelight was that the main accused Ramesh was angry with Hardip over two things.

First, Ramesh faced humiliation when he reportedly had arranged a girl at his room two months ago and the other that he suspected that the victim had relations with his sister.

According to their murder plan, accused who had good relations with Hardip managed to bring Hardip near water works tank of Lalru on the night of June 24 at 9 pm and later murdered him with sharp edged weapons and by strangulating him.

Victim’s body was noticed next day. The above-mentioned accused, Rubal, had been allegedly involved in theft cases and had been in jail for a year.

All the arrested accused have been booked under Section 302, 34 of the IPC by the local police.

The police officials said that the accused would be presented in the Dera Bassi court on June 28.
